As part of the bit37 project, Alarion distills digital excess to deliver a pure, meditative experience rooted and inspired by biological truth. This isn't just a game, it's an invitation to discover the common swift (world's fastest bird) while engaging with he fundamental beauty of aerodynamics. Master the raw flight by surviving, hunting, doing challenges and unlocking advanced techniques.
Explore a realistic, detailed yet minimalistic landscape and experience the true pleasure of flying. No cockpit, no engines, just flapping wings.
Alarion is built around three main pillars that balance freedom, learning, and mastery.
Five interactive tutorials guide the player from the very basics to advanced flying techniques. They start simple and intuitive, gradually becoming more demanding as your skill and confidence grow.
Twelve challenges are scattered across the island, waiting to be unlocked and mastered. Each challenge draws inspiration from real behaviors of the common swift (apus apus), testing your abilities to their limits. From low-altitude forest runs to high-speed aerobatic trials, these challenges offer unique situations that only a bird simulator can deliver.
The common swift, called Apus, senses there's a secret diary hidden across the island. Each discovered page unlocks clues to the next, revealing insights about aerodynamics, anatomy, and hidden secrets of flight. The secret diary is made to explore while having fun.
Alarion is available on Steam for free.
To recreate the realism of the natural world, it was developed in Unreal Engine 5. This level of fidelity requires some computational power, thus, the game is being optimized. An extensive Screen Settings menu lets each player tailor performance and visual to their system for the best experience possible.
